Meet the people that make Compass Constructors
Allan was born in Costa Rica where he worked on the family farm at a young age, which taught him how to work hard. He has always had a strong entrepreneurial mind and a lot of ambition. In 1994 he came to the United States where he started his construction career.
At age 22 he started his first construction company in Kansas City, specializing in structure and metal framing, which was part of some major construction projects in Kansas City. When the economy crashed in 2008 he chose to cut his losses and closed the company. He went to work for the railroad as a Project Manager, where he oversaw a crew that installed underground diesel lines and service stations. He loved working in the Industrial Construction Market, but it was time to again live his passion, which was business ownership.
Allan is very much a forward thinker and goes after what he wants for his future and the future of his family, so in 2012, Compass Constructors was born. The company has had a lot of accomplishments and growth, but the real accomplishment is what he is able to teach his team and community. He is a member of the Board of Directors for the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, a member of the Helzberg Entrepreneurial Mentoring Program (HEMP) and a recent graduate of the Stanford University Latino Business Action Network.
Being and immigrant he knows the day to day struggles of what it takes, not only live in another country, but to be successful in another country. With his passion and drive to become successful, he will not allow any obstacle will get in his way.

He then worked for a couple large local General Contracting and Roofing firms before starting the next part of his career with Compass Constructors.
He is the President of the American Subcontractors Association of Greater Kansas City and is also a Board Member of the National Organization of the American Subcontractors Association. Through these organizations, he is very much involved with governmental advocacy as it pertains to subcontractors. Krista Arias was born and raised in Kansas City, MO. She is no stranger to hard work or a construction site, as her father was in construction her whole life. She has always had an entrepreneurial mind, which led her to start her first business at the age of 21.
Krista started her career in sales, marketing and financial planning in the Financial Services industry. She loves to help people and mentor them to be successful and achieve their goals. Her biggest reward was being able to help her clients with financial planning and budgeting so they may start to build a legacy for their family.
In 2011, she met her husband and in 2012 helped start Compass Constructors. Compass has had a lot of accomplishments, but the most rewarding is to see the continued growth and where the company is being positioned for the future. Krista and Allan are not only building a legacy for their family, but for them it is important to see the Compass team achieving the goals for their families as well.
In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and traveling. The dream is to see and experience as much as she can of the world in her lifetime.
