Meet the people that make Compass Constructors
Allan was born in Costa Rica where he worked on the family farm at a young age, which taught him how to work hard. He has always had a strong entrepreneurial mind and a lot of ambition. In 1994 he came to the United States where he started his construction career.
At age 22 he started his first construction company in Kansas City, specializing in structure and metal framing, which was part of some major construction projects in Kansas City. When the economy crashed in 2008 he chose to cut his losses and closed the company. He went to work for the railroad as a Project Manager, where he oversaw a crew that installed underground diesel lines and service stations. He loved working in the Industrial Construction Market, but it was time to again live his passion, which was business ownership.
Allan is very much a forward thinker and goes after what he wants for his future and the future of his family, so in 2012, Compass Constructors was born. The company has had a lot of accomplishments and growth, but the real accomplishment is what he is able to teach his team and community. He is a member of the Board of Directors for the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, a member of the Helzberg Entrepreneurial Mentoring Program (HEMP) and a recent graduate of the Stanford University Latino Business Action Network.
Being and immigrant he knows the day to day struggles of what it takes, not only live in another country, but to be successful in another country. With his passion and drive to become successful, he will not allow any obstacle will get in his way.

After high school he continued some education with Maple Woods and traveled with other career interests in customer service, management, and leadership. Ryan won many awards for outstanding performance in customer service, sales, and leadership with the previous employers. Ryan got introduced into the commercial roofing industry in 2010 and never looked back. He started with a roofing contractor in KC who was small at that time performing around 3-5 million in revenue annually. Ryan worked for 12 years with that same Roofing Contractor as they grew and allowed opportunities for him to work in various leadership roles until ending his career for the last 6 years developing and growing the Service Department as their Director of Service. Over the years with that previous roofing firm Ryan was able to be a part of the growth as they consistently grew each year making the list of the top 100 roofing contractors in the United States for the past few years. Ryan started in the field and learned how to inspect roofs, complete various roofing applications and repairs, run crews, and diagnose leaks. Ryan’s experience and care with customer & employee communication, management of systems, and leadership of teams has given him an opportunity to continue to help people learn and grow within an industry perspective providing quality service to clients and building lasting relationships. Ryan enjoys learning new things relating to all things roofing and passing that knowledge off to everyone he works with in assisting with offering the best possible training or solutions for their roofing needs.
Ryan enjoys spending time with his family and traveling with his wife, and their youngest of 5 children. He enjoys seeing his youngest son playing football and spending time with all his children whenever possible. Ryan and his wife have 2 older sons and 2 older daughters that are either off to college or pursuing careers which gives him and his wife and their youngest an excuse to travel.
Ryan Hendrickson was born in Kansas and has lived in the rural areas of this state all his life. Ryan graduated from Paola High School in 2002. Ryan began estimating repairs and full roof replacements and learned roofing types and systems even more intricately to utilize in his estimating.
